BARE IT ALL TAN
Pre & Post-Care Tan

Preparation
Before Your Session:
Moisturize Daily - but NOT on the day of your Spray Tan!
-
DHA (the active ingredient in spray tans) loves dry skin. Keeping your skin hydrated 4-5 days prior to your session helps your tan last longer.
-
Avoid applying lotion, creams, body oils, or deodorant on the day of your appointment. These create a barrier, preventing even adsorption.
-
Deodorant will turn your underarms GREEN during the tanning process, so it's best to skip it!
-
Make-up and perfume also act as barriers, so arrive with clean, product-free skin.
All Beauty Appointments:
All beauty services should be done at least 24 hours BEFORE your spray tan.
-
Waxing, shaving, facials, massages, hair coloring, and mani/pedis should be scheduled in advance.
-
Avoid scheduling these after your spray tan as they can disrupt your tan and cause uneven fading.
-
If post-tan beauty services alter your results, a New Spray Tan session will be required, as touch-ups are not possible.
Exfoliation GOLD RULES:
Exfoliate 24/48 hours before your session for optimal results.
-
This removes dead skin cells and creates the perfect base for your tan.
-
Use an oil-free exfoliator, mitt, or dry (soft) brush. Avoid scrubs with heavy oils, as they can leave residue.
-
Exfoliating too close (or day of) your appointment may leave your skin sensitive and affect how the tan develops.
What to Wear to your Appointment:
We're channeling Adam Sandler vibes - dark, loose, comfy clothing is key!
-
Best outfit choices:
-
Oversized T-shirts or sweatshirts (loose)
-
Loose-fitting joggers, PJ pants or loose dress (avoid tight straps)
-
Flip-flops or slip on shoes (avoid socks & sneakers right after your tan)
-
Avoid wearing bras immediately after your tan (they can create lines)
-
Tight leggings, jeans, or sports bras (these can rub off your tan)
What to wear during your tan:
Women: You can wear whatever makes you comfortable many choose to tan in their birthday suit.
Men: Lower-body coverage is required.
Approved options include: boxers, boxers briefs, bikini briefs, or a non-transparent thong.
NO EXCEPTIONS!!! this policy is for the safety and comfort of both client and artist.

-
DO NOT use soap, body wash or scrub your skin. Simply rinse with lukewarm water.

Avoid rubbing your skin as this can cause streaking and uneven development
-
Keep your hair dry to prevent shampoo/conditioner from running down your body and affecting your tan.
After your first shower:
-
Use a gentle, sulfate-free, and spray tan safe body was for future showers.
-
Pat dry with a towel - never rub!
When to Apply Lotion & Products to Avoid:
-
Hydration is key! Apply a spray tan safe lotion twice daily (morning & evening) to extend your tan's life (7-10 days).
-

When can you work out after your spray tan?
-
Wait at least 24 hours before heavy sweating or intense workouts to prevent premature fading.
-
For lighter workouts: wear loose-fitting, breathable clothing to minimize friction and streaking.
-
Avoid excessive sweating on the first day to help your tan set properly.
Shaving & Exfoliating with a Spray Tan
-
Wait at least 24 hours before shaving to allow your tan to fully develop and set.
-
Use a gentle, non-exfoliating razor and glide lightly over the skin.
-
Exfoliate 5-6 days post tan to ensure an even fade.
-
Focus on knees, heels, and elbows (areas that tend to be drier)
-
Exfoliate gently to prevent patchy fading.
