As women, we're often expected to wear all the hats: wife, mom, business owner, friend, sister, daughter. The list goes on. And somewhere in between juggling responsibilities and taking care of everyone else, we forget about the most important person ourselves. Trust me, I've been there. For a long time, I told myself that putting my needs on the back burner was just part of the deal. But let me tell you something: making time for yourself isn't selfish it's essential.
With January coming to an end, I know so many of us started the year full of excitement and new goals. Whether it was prioritizing your health, creating better boundaries, or just finding more joy in the little things, let this be your reminder to keep showing up for those goals. It's easy to get caught up in the hustle, but self-care is the fuel that keeps us going.
When I started Bare It All Tan, I had this overwhelming desire to help women feel confident and radiant like the best version of themselves. What I didn't realize at the time was that I needed to take my own advice. I was running on fumes, pouring so much into my family and my business that I forgot to pour back into myself.
That's when I made a promise: self-care wouldn't be optional anymore. For me, Sundays are my self-care day. I joke with my husband that on Sunday, I'm like the phoenix lol, yes, like Fawkes from Harry Potter. I will rise from the ashes on Monday with my fresh spray tan, full of energy, and a renewed sense of purpose. That is exactly what a fresh spray tan does for me. As many of my clients know, I'm a better version of myself when I have a spray tan.
I also know what it feels like to be overwhelmed fresh out of a postpartum body, fresh out of just losing weight, fresh out of finding yourself after a breakup, a divorce, post college body. You look back at pictures and wish you still looked the same. I see you. I understand you. And I've created a space where you can reset and feel your best.
Here's the thing: self-care doesn't have to be extravagant or time-consuming. It's not about expensive spa days or lavish vacations (though those are nice too!). Sometimes it's as simple as taking 15 minutes to do something that makes you feel alive. For me, spray tanning has always been part of that routine. There's something magical about how a fresh tan can lift your mood and make you feel put together, even on the most chaotic days. It's more than just a glow; it's a mindset shift.
At Bare It All, I see it every day women walking in stressed, rushed, and maybe even a little unsure of themselves. But when they leave with that sun-kissed glow, it's like something clicks. Their posture changes, their confidence shines, and they walk out the door ready to take on the world. It's proof that sometimes, the smallest things can have the biggest impact.
I've learned that when you take care of yourself, it spills over into every other part of your life. You're more patient as a mom, more present as a partner, and more focused as a business owner. When I prioritize self-care, I show up as the best version of me not just for myself, but for everyone I love.
So, let this be your reminder: it's okay to invest in yourself. Keep chasing those goals you set at the start of the year, and make self-care a non-negotiable part of the process. Whether it's a spray tan, a walk outside, or binging your favorite podcast, find what makes you feel good and lean into it. You deserve to feel confident, beautiful, and unstoppable every single day.
And next time your husband/boyfriend/partner tells you that you don't need that spray tan? Book it anyway. Because in just 15 minutes, your entire mindset can shift. Self-care isn't selfish, and it doesn't have to be expensive.
To every single person who budgets Bare It All Tan into their life whether it's weekly, monthly, yearly, or just for special occasions. I see you. I appreciate you. And I will never take your support for granted.
Here's to making yourself a priority you are so worth it beautiful.
XOXO,
Kristy
